Whilst attaining a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from the Queensland University of Technology Emma was involved in numerous in-house theatre productions both as an actor and set designer. In the evenings she was involved with Laboite’s youth theatre programme. After graduating, Emma worked as a model maker on a variety of Stop-motion animated films for Visual Eyes Creative in Brisbane. Wanting to continue her training in acting, she began studying at The Actors Workshop in August 2000, where she received a certificate IV.

Since then, Emma has worked on numerous Feature Films, short films, television, and theatre. Her first feature, UNDEAD achieved international recognition; in 2003 it won the Fipresci Prize (critics award) at the Melbourne International Film Festival, and the following year it was awarded Independent Rental Title of the Year in Australia.

In 2003 Emma won the award for Best Female Actor at the Queensland New Filmmakers Awards for her work in the short film ONCE I WAS.

Her second feature, THE ILLUSTRATED FAMILY DOCTOR was nominated in 2005 for both an AFI Award and an Australian Film Critics Association Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

In 2006 Emma played the lead in an AFTRS short film called This Girl in the Desert which was nominated at the Australian Directors Guild 2007 for Best student short film.  In 2008 Emma has continued her work in short film and has written her first feature length screenplay titled PARANOIA.
