Industry Work Experience
Students are given opportunities to participate in directing workshops where professional directors are training tomorrow's filmmakers.
Students enrolled in courses at The Actors Workshop are required to complete a work experience program as part of their assessment. This program requires students to apply their skills in external environments including auditions for film and television, and participation in role play scenarios for external organisations. Auditions can include television commercial work, professional role-plays, tertiary or independent film and television projects.
High School Work Experience
The Actors Workshop accepts work experience students from Secondary schools. Students are welcome to attend classes for a week to gain an insight into the workload and creative challenges involved in preparing for a professional career as an actor. Enactments may include: Terrorists/criminals for crisis response training. Disaster victims in a state of panic. Distraught victims talking with trainee counsellors. The criminally accused being briefed by lawyers. Relationship breakdowns during a mediation process. Anxious family members faced with devastating news from health services. Shell shocked accident victims preparing trainee medical personnel for the job ahead of them.
